A big shout out and congratulations to the businesses in Powell Wyoming for their 100% successful alcohol compliance check in December. They had 100% pass rate for not selling to underage. 

 Unfortunately, we don't see a lot of these stories. Alcohol compliance checks are regularly published but not consolidated as an information. When we do see the published ones, most of the times there are failure rates Ranging from 10 to 20%. ID scanners are a foolproof way to eliminate sales to minors. 

 Here is the data from their compliance check: 

 On December 28th, 2022, the Powell Police Department, conducted compliance checks of 11 businesses selling alcohol within city limits. The purpose of the checks is to ensure liquor license holders are working to prevent the sale of alcohol to purchasers under the age of 21. Of the establishments that were checked, 11 passed, for a success rate of 100%.

Persons who sell alcohol to underage minors are subject to a fine of $310.00.
A local volunteer participated in the compliance check. The volunteer was an adult under the age of 21 and possessed a valid and legal driver’s license, which was shown to every seller that asked.
The businesses and employees who successfully passed the compliance check deserve well-earned congratulations for their diligence in preventing alcohol sales to underage purchasers.
